Wheat Puttu & Chickpeas Curry
Ingredients:
- 1 – Cup Atta
- 2 – Tbsp grated Coconut
- Salt to Taste
- Water as required
Method: In a bowl add Atta, Salt to taste and required amount of water and mix till breadcrumbs consistency. In a puttu maker add a tbsp of grated coconut and fill it with Atta crumbs and close the lid. Add water in the steamer or pressure cooker and bring it to boil, place the putt maker on it and steam the puttu for 6-8 minutes and serve it hot with your choices of curry.
- Soaked Chickpea – 1 Cup (200 gm)
- Garlic – 5 Cloves(chopped)
- Ginger – 1 Inch piece(chopped)
- Onion – 2 Nos(chopped)
- Chopped Tomato- 1 No
- Green chilles – 2 nos (chopped)
- Mustard Seeds- 1 Teaspoon
- Dry red chilli – 3 nos
- Shallot – 3 nos
- Curry leaves – 1 Spring
- Chilli powder – 1 tbsp.
- Coriander powder – 2 tbsp.
- Garam Masala – 1 tbsp.
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tspn
- Coconut oil – 2tbsp
METHOD
Add coconut oil to a pressure cooker add ingredients from 2-6 let it cook until mushy. Add ingredients from 11 – 14 and cook until the oil releases. Finally add the chickpeas nd pressure cook it for 4 – 5 medium whistles. For tempering add 1 teaspoon of oil add ingredients from 7 – 10 , add this to the cooked curry. Enjoy your delicious Chickpea curry with some hot Wheat puttu!!!
